How to submit

Unsolicited manuscripts are welcome from all creative writers, both in Romanian and English languages. We accept e-mail or mail submissions.

The postal address is 1 Aleea Dorohoi St, bl. E21, sc. 3, et. 3, apt. 56, Bucharest 4.

Under no circumstances should a full-length manuscript be submitted unless initially requested. Send a covering letter to make your query short and precise and tell us something about yourself. Send us a brief synopsis, ideally one page, and three chapters of your work on A4 paper, in double-spaced type on one side of the sheet only (do not bind or staple your work and remember to print your name, a contact number and email address on the cover of your manuscript). If our feedback is positive, expect to be requested to translate the text into English.

Please wait until you receive a reply before sending in more material. If we do request a complete manuscript, expect a response in 6-8 weeks.

If you are an illustrator:

It’s preferable that the illustrations be appropriate for children’s books with children and animal characters rather than samples of illustrations in magazines or advertisements:

Do not submit original artwork. We are not responsible for any originals.

Include a series of at least 5, preferably more, color photocopies of your illustrations in a series showing the same characters in different scenes.

Please let us know if you are making multiple queries to other agents or publishers. Exclusive submissions are preferred and given priority. And please do not phone or fax!

Please consider the following:

• We do NOT accept submissions via fax.
• We do NOT meet potential clients without having first read their work.
• We do NOT charge a reading fee.
• We do NOT return manuscripts.
• We do NOT offer editorial advice to non-clients.
• We respond to e-mail queries much faster than mailed ones.
