
SINECTICO – The Bookmen Convention, 2010
When: on April 23rd, The World Book and Copyright Day
Where: Bucharest, Romania
Synectics: Idea-generating technique, similar to brainstorming, where the discussion is centered around a general idea that is related to a problem, rather than the problem itself.
SINECTICO will have its first occurance on April 23rd.
Talk Partners is organizing the convention under the patronage of the Romanian Ministry of Culture and National Patrimonium. The event will open on April 22nd at 1:00 pm, at the Ministry. We are honoured to have Mr. Kelemen Hunor – Minister for Culture and National Patrimonium as host speaker.

Guest speakers: Stela Lie – visual artist, lecturer at the National University of Arts Bucharest, Victoria Argint – Aramis Publishing House. Guests: Illustrators’ Club members, visual artists, graphic designers, book lovers.
“Gheorghe Airinei” Technical Postal and Telecommunication College
- 13:00 – 15:00 “Opera Prima” Event. Students trained by Poet Dan Mircea Cipariu will read their literary works on the stage. Special guest – actor George Mihǎiţǎ, who will recite poems for them.
SINECTICO long-term objectives:
- to revive the Romanian book market;
- to help improve the relationship between publishers and booksellers;
- to promote Romanian authors amongst the young public;
- to create a stronger, more transparent liaison among publisher, booksellers and readers.
- to promote the Romanian book illustration and the Romanian visual artists as opposed to foreign products.
April 23rd is closely connected to great literary names such as Shakespeare, Cervantes, Nabokov. UNESCO named this particular day the World Book and Copyright Day. This great idea was quickly embraced by the Spanish, where booksellers offer flowers for each sold book on St George’s Day (April 23rd!!!). This helped tremendously at promoting the event.
